# How to Get a MetroBus Card in Panama City (2025 Guide)

If you're planning to use public transportation in Panama City—whether you're a new resident or just visiting—getting a MetroBus card (officially known as the *Sistema Integrado*) is essential. This rechargeable smart card is used for both the Panama Metro and the MetroBus system, offering a convenient and cost-effective way to get around.

### Where to Buy a MetroBus Card

**1. Metro Stations (Line 1 & Line 2)**  
The easiest place to purchase a MetroBus card is at any Panama Metro station. Look for the automated kiosks located near the turnstiles.

- **Cost:** $2.00 (plus a minimum $0.50 recharge)
- **Payment:** Cash only (small bills recommended)

**2. Albrook Terminal**  
Located at the hub of Panama’s transportation network, Albrook Terminal offers card purchase and recharge points. It’s a smart stop for those traveling between cities or arriving from Tocumen International Airport.

**3. Supermarkets and Pharmacies**  
Many branches of Super 99, Riba Smith, and local pharmacies also sell and recharge MetroBus cards. Ask at the customer service counter.

**4. Kiosks in Malls and Public Spaces**  
Several shopping malls—like Albrook Mall, Multiplaza, and MetroMall—have kiosks where you can buy or top up your card.

- **Metro fare:** $0.35
- **MetroBus fare:** $0.25
