## Panama-David Railway: Connecting the Nation

One of the biggest announcements this month came from President José Raúl Mulino, who unveiled the official route and stations for the upcoming Panama-David railway. This 475-kilometer high-speed rail line will connect Panama City to the western province of Chiriquí in under three hours.

With 14 stations including Albrook, Coronado, Penonomé, Santiago, David, and Paso Canoas, the railway is designed to improve internal mobility, stimulate regional economies, and generate over 50,000 jobs during its construction. It's a bold step toward national integration and a faster, more connected future.

## Panama Canal Greenlights New Energy Pipeline

The Panama Canal Authority has launched an open bidding process for the development of a new energy pipeline. This land-based infrastructure will complement the Canal’s maritime activity by facilitating the transfer of energy products and enhancing multimodal logistics capacity.

The pipeline aims to reduce maritime congestion and increase efficiency, reinforcing Panama’s strategic position in global trade. The project is also aligned with long-term sustainability and investment goals that benefit both the country and its logistics sector.

## A Quick Island Escape to Taboga

If you're craving a day of sun and sea without going far, Taboga Island is the perfect getaway. Located just 30 minutes by ferry from Amador Causeway, Taboga offers golden beaches, a charming village, fresh seafood, and short hiking trails with sweeping views.

Ferries run multiple times a day, and tickets can be purchased online or at the terminal. It’s one of the easiest day trips from Panama City and always worth the ride.

## Tocumen Airport: No More Customs Form for Most Travelers

Travel into Panama just got easier. The traveler declaration form is no longer required for arrivals through Tocumen International Airport—unless you’re bringing in more than 10,000 US dollars in cash or goods. For most passengers, this means quicker, smoother entry into the country.

Families traveling with minors will also appreciate a simplified process. Only a notarized authorization and birth certificate are required for a child to exit Panama—there is no longer a need to complete the digital form.
