Panama Customs Update: No Declaration Form Needed at Tocumen for Most Travelers

If you’re planning to enter Panama through Tocumen International Airport, there’s good news: the traveler declaration form is no longer required—as long as you have nothing to declare.

This change simplifies entry for most international visitors and returning residents. Previously, all travelers were asked to complete a sworn declaration form (physically or digitally) upon arrival. Now, if you’re not carrying goods or cash over the legal threshold, you can walk straight through customs without any paperwork.

What Does Require a Declaration?

You still need to complete the Traveler Declaration Form if you are:

• Bringing cash, negotiable documents, or monetary instruments over $10,000 USD

• Carrying goods or items subject to customs duty

What About Traveling With Kids?
