What is Panapass?

Panapass is Panama’s electronic toll collection system. Drivers pass through designated lanes, and tolls are deducted automatically from their Panapass account balance.

What’s New in 2025?

Previously, drivers needed to book an appointment online to install their Panapass. As of 2025, this is no longer necessary. You can simply walk in at designated service centers to get your Panapass installed.

Where to Get Your Panapass

You can obtain your Panapass at these two primary locations:

  • Albrook Service Center
Located near Albrook Mall and the bus terminal, close to the Tribunal Electoral offices.

  • Atlapa Service Center

Both centers handle installations quickly, often completing the process in less than 30 minutes.

When you go to install your Panapass, make sure to bring the following:

✅ A copy of your vehicle registration (Certificación Única del Vehículo)
✅ A copy of your current insurance policy (vigente)
✅ A copy of your ID (cédula or passport)

It’s advisable to carry originals as well, in case they need to verify details.

Cost of Installation

The installation fee is $10, which covers:

  • Installation of the electronic sticker (tag) on your windshield

  • Activation of your account

  • An initial balance applied to your Panapass account

After installation, you can continue recharging your account through multiple channels.

How to Recharge Your Panapass

Once you have your Panapass, you can top up your balance using:

  • The Panapass mobile app or website

  • Online banking with participating banks

  • ATMs from certain banks
